FAQs

Spacebee is a marketplace or meeting point between underused professional spaces (meeting rooms, workposts, offices, retail spaces, studis, etc...) and a growing need for flexible locations for companies, startups, freelancers, etc...

IF YOU HAVE EXCESS SPACE:

What requirements do I have to fulfill in order to post a space?

Any company or professional that has excess space can post an ad and become a host on Spacebee, anywhere from a small freelance studio to a large company, as well as other non-corporate entities. At Spacebee we have tried to include many types pf spaces: meeting rooms, individual workposts, offices, classrooms, spaces for events, etc. In addition we are open to receiving suggestions from you regarding the kind of space that you would like to be able to see on Spacebee.

What are the restrictions?

Spacebee has been designed as a marketplace for a wide variety of spaces for professional uses. Spacebee has not been designed to serve hospitality or residential purposes. If you are unsure if your space is suitable for Spacebee, please contact us.

How is the legal relationship regulated between myself, as Host and a Guest?

While every case is different (if you are the owner, tenant, etc.), Spacebee provides you with a suggested agreement for both parties. The agreement contains the information of both parties, a legal framework, as well as the specific details of the space and ammenities to be provided, including price and duration of the booking. It is however the sole responsibuilty of both parties to sign an agreement that is within the legal bounds of the space in question.

As a host what are my obligations?

You must ensure that the spaces are available, as published, for Guests to book. For this purpose, Spacebee provides you with a useful integrated calendar to manage your spaces, including managing availability, bookings, messages, etc. At the designated check-in day you are expected to welcome your Guest and provide them with an initial orientation, including any safety issues that the Guest should be made aware of. You are also responsible for ensuring that the space is provided clean and ready for use, and under the same conditions and with the same servide level as described in the original ad.

What cost is involved?

Posting an ad on Spacebee is free! Spacebee only collects a success fee when an actual booking is carried out. This fee is paid by the Guest but must be deducted afetrwords from the payment the Guest will make to you. In other words, you only pay if you are making money from your space. The fee is 15% of the amount of the booking, VAT not included.

How much should I charge and when do I collect payment?

You will determine the rate for the space, per hour, day, week or month. You can also determine how you wish to be paid by the Guest, at check-in, at check-out, or any other way you agree to. The Guest will pay you the amount calculated for the period booked minus the booking fee, which has already been paid to Spacebee. For more information please see the Terms of Service.

What happens if something is damaged during the Guests stay?

In order to use Spacebee your establishment housing the space should have an insurance policy covering civil liability. Spacebee recommends you are present at check-in and check-out and carry out an inventory of the contents of the space with the Guest in order to minimise risk and avoid problems.
